Raising money for Stephen Murray – 900 miles in 9 days
In August I’ll be riding 900 miles in 9 days by cycling the length of the UK from Lands End to John O’Groats (LeJog). As you know I’m definitely no roadie, but it’s a great opportunity to raise money for my brother Stephen as he continues in his effort to one day walk again after he broke his neck some 6 years ago now, rendering him a quadriplegic.
Every year we are faced with the challenge of raising $100k a year for Stephen and his family to pay the huge medical bills associated with such an accident and I’m hoping you are in a position to once again help us out as we do all we can to ease his financial burden.
I have written a blog to put a little perspective on why I am doing LeJog – please check it out here: staystrong.co.uk/2150.
Just last week he made some unbelievable progress by moving his arms (check the video out in the blog link). As you can imagine, we’re really excited about it as it’s the biggest bit of progress he has made in a number of years and we continue to believe that one day he will get out of his chair. Riding LeJog will be nothing compared to what he goes through on a daily basis.
Here’s 4 ways you can help raise awareness and support Stephen:
1) Click the link here and make a donation.
2) Forward this email to anyone you think may be interested in supporting Stephen.
3) Share a FaceBook LeJog post.
4) RT a LeJog tweet (@mrmartinmurray or @staystrongbmx)
You’ll be able to follow our progress once we begin the journey via a daily blog on staystrong.co.uk.
Thanks for your continued support, it’s much appreciated.
