Check out our recent edit from our, “BMX Pro for a Week” summer camp program in cooperation with the YMCA of San Diego County with the Chase/DHR Team.

Thanks to Barona Resort & Casino for their continued and increased support allowing for an expansion of our Ride to End Obesity Program into San Diego Unified School District through an after school partnership with the YMCA of San Diego. 2015 is looking very positive and we remain excited to grow every facet of our team.

I would like to offer a big thank you to Free Agent / KHS Bicycles for the past 10 years. They not only supported my racing career but also assisted in my transition to Team Manager. Over the years, we’ve had some fantastic results as a Team winning the UCI World Team Championships 3 times alongside multiple World and National Championships at the highest level with Kyle, Maris & Cristian amongst so many other team riders. We had 5 riders qualify for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and again Maris & David qualifying for the London 2012 Games. With Maris winning Gold for a second time it was amazing and it meant a lot to be a part of it. Many top riders have passed through our Team over the last 10 years and have gone onto great things.. Above all – I will always remember the fun on the road – our stories only those of us there will ever know. I had the opportunity to travel the world and take part in what I love – BMX with Kyle, Maris, Cristian, David and so many more. I thank Wen and Susan for investing in our team. And, as hard as we work and ride, we wouldn’t get anywhere without our sponsors that have stood beside us over the years.
Special thanks to: @freeagentbmx @rockstarenergy @foxbmx @maxxistires @bmxracinggroup @rideshimano @odigrips @tiogabmx @kmc

There are many exciting things in the works for me in 2014 and I will look forward to updating all of you in the days to come.

Cheers Dale

Yesterday, the locally-based So-Cal Pros came out to raise funds for Chula Vista BMX and to put on a Clinic for the kids. Great turn-out despite a relatively cold day for Californians. There were a lot of stoked kids that got to ride and hang out with Pros and it’s looking like with the Clinic and generous donations from both Sam Willoughby and Anita Goodman ( Darryn’s mum ) enough money was raised to Asphalt the turns, which was the goal. The San Diego BMX scene these days seems to be the meca for Pro BMX like Huntington Beach/ Orange County were in the 90s with so many Pros/Elites from around the World basing themselves in San Diego. Well, and not to mention, the Olympic Training Center is a central part of the scene. Tuesday night gate sessions at Chula Vista is now a staple weekly event for most Pros and Olympic Medalists alongside the fastest Elite men and Women in the World. It’s really turned into a great scene. Big shout out to Tyler Brown for all his hard work and dedication with Chula Vista BMX . Cheers!

This past weekend over at Bellflower BMX in So-Cal they held a Pro Clinic Benefit to support Paul Wassenaar who is going through Cancer treatment at the moment. All of the Pros/Olympians/Industry came together to organize a Clinic to raise some money for Paul, as his dad Jeff and family, have done and continue to do so much for the BMX Community.

There was an impressive turn-out of both Pros and clinic participants. It was a memorable day with the kids on the track and having the opportunity to hang out with everyone for such an incredible cause. A BIG shout out and note of thanks to, Tammy, of Bellflower BMX and their locals including Robert De Wilde for organizing a wonderful event that not only provided a great day but also considerable funds raised for Paul to assist in his recovery. Fresno Redline Cup
For the second year in a row Fresno, California was the host for the Redline Cup West. It is also the second year Fresno hosted a pro series event.
Dale Holmes,  Cristian Becerine, and two-time gold medalist Maris Strombergs loaded up the Freeagent/Rockstar van and made their way to the Central Valley for the race weekend.
The facility in Fresno’s Woodward Park is a BMX riders dream. Riders will never find themselves getting bored in this place. Aside from the track the facility has a pump track, a section that includes 40 + table tops, and a dirt jumping section. This year the Fresno crew made some changes to the track. The most noticeable change was on the second straight. Much to the delight of the pros the pro set had a bigger first jump and the doubles were stretched out.

Maris Strombergs – The Latvian heart throb was back to his gold medal form in his motos on Saturday. Taking a 2,1,2. Maris drew an outside Lane in the first AA main. Not a problem for the Olympian as he won the battle to the first turn and held it to the finish line. In the second main Maris had the favorable lane one and used it to his advantage, rocketing out of the first turn in the lead and taking the win. The Machine had some problems in the third main and finished with a fourth place. A 1,1,4 proved to be low points for the day putting him on top of the box.
The Machine’s Sunday morning started off great with a win in the first moto. His semi was little more dramatic then he would like as he unclipped down the first straight. He made up more ground than a F16 at supersonic speed and pushed himself at the line into the main event. In the first main Maris snapped out of the gate charging for the first turn narrowly missing out on the holeshot money. He finished up the race with a second place. The second main was a great battle between Maris and Sam Willoughby. Maris lead from the start, however it was Willoughby with the push at the line and the win. The third main saw Maris take the holeshot and lead the race from start to finish. A 2,2,1 was a enough to give him the win for the day.

Cristian Becerine – Big C took his AA experience and Freeagent Limo right to the front in the first Vet Pro main on Saturday. The second main was a carbon copy of the first main with Big C winning by several bike lengths. In the 3rd main Cristian completed the hat trick and took home the overall win for the day.
Cristian picked up where he left off the day and won the first two Vet Pro mains. He completed the weekend sweep by winning the final main making it a perfect weekend. Big C has put himself in great position to defend his Vet Pro title.
Dale Holmes – The UK legend is newly reclassified to the Am ranks and having a blast on his old school flat pedals. On top of his team manager duties Mr. Holmes has been racking up wins from Louisville to Chula in the 41 and over expert class. In Fresno Dale kept up his winning ways and dominated the older expert class both days.
