This past weekend was the NBL Grands over in Louisville Kentucky. Not been there for a few years, but always liked it as Kentucky has always been good for me. Friday's Pre Race/National went good and I took the win without too much of a problem. Stumpy took the win in Elite which closed the points on Cristian. Saturday was Grands time, which was double points for the titles.
I felt good again all day but came out the gate late in the final for some reason. Before I knew it Ken Fallen was cutting me off coming from the outside, but I was feeling strong so I just kept going, even though I was heading for the infield. ha ha I closed right up on him going into turn one but there was no way through but to hit the infield grass in the first turn. I gave Ken a last ditch nudge but it was not enough as I went down and he rode to the finish for the win and the title. Congrats to Ken; he's a snapper for sure.
Elite was down to Cristian and Stumpy for the title. Cristian got stuck in traffic down the first straight but managed to go low the first turn and come out second behind Randy. He chased him down hard and nearly pulled up alongside down the last straight, but it was not enough as Randy did enough for the win and title, with Cristian 2nd and number 2 for the year. Javier rode super good with a 2nd and 3rd for the weekend and a top 5 for the year. J Rich ended up 3rd for the year with another good weekend performance. All the top 5 overalls for Elites the year were over 31!
My Free Agent team rider for Ecuadors, Fausto Endara, flew out for the weekend and ended up winning the Grands in Superclass, a great ride for Fausto who seems to be getting faster every time i see him ride. In all a pretty cool weekend despite the results. Back home now in Murrieta, time to put the bike aside and have a break!

NBL Grands This Weekend
Well, the Olympics are over and next up we've got the NBL Grand Nationals this weekend in Kentucky. Cristian and Stumpy go for the Elite title and I have a shot at the Masters title also, so be great for the Team if myself and Cristian can both wrap up 2 titles in one weekend.
I'm feeling really good right now and have always done good on the Kentucky Grands track, so excited to race this weekend and get it rolling.

Olympic 4th Place Free Agents Andres Jimenez returns to Colombia
Dale, Here are some pics from yesterday with the arrival of the Colombian BMX Olympic team...a lot of people were waiting for Andres Jimenez and the others team riders.. kids, friends, BMX National Federation members and his parents become crazy when Andre cross the international airport exit gate, cheers, Colombian flags, balloons, poster and all kind of greetings.
After that they were invited to make a tour in a typical party bus "we named CHIVA". we rounded with cars full of Colombian flags. This morning was a press conference for the media newspapers and TV channels. You can`t imagine how good Andres result has effected for the people who rules our national sports committee and federations... Really good. Mello
